Aloha - Welcome!
Ohia House B & B is the perfect home base accommodation in Pahoa for your Hawaii vacation on the Big Island. Permitted by the state of Hawaii and centrally located between Hilo and Volcanoes National Park, and just a short 2 hour drive from Kona International airport. We are situated in a tropical rainforest within the Puna district of Leilani Estates, and are just minutes from the quaint village of Pahoa, where you will find numerous restaurants and shops.
A short drive from the beautiful Kalapana "new" black sand beach, a result of the Kilauea lava flow that has been flowing for 30 years, now coming back to become what was once there. Lava Tree State Park is just minutes away and should not be missed. Take the tropical, captivating drive down Highway 137 (red road) and stop to admire the stunning blue waters of Kehena Beach. Watch closely, and you'll spot numerous dolphins, sea turtles, or even whales during Hawaii's winter months. Continue through tropical rainforest to MacKenzie State Recreation Area, Issac Hale Beach Park in the Pohoiki coastal area, where you can swim, watch our local surfers, or join them. Quite an amazing experience. Grab a snack from the local snack trucks, then continue on to Ahalanui Warm Springs for a therapeutic dip, or enjoy unsurpassed snorkeling at Kapoho Tide Pools. View recent activity from the current flow at the new viewing area open daily just a few minutes drive from us in Pahoa!
Whatever your pleasure, whatever your desire, you are our only guest and it is within reach at Ohia House Bed and Breakfast, in Pahoa on the Big Island of Hawaii, where memories are made. We're waiting and look forward to your visit!
Since our arrival from California in 2006 Rick and I are continually captivated by the magic of aloha & inspiration felt here on the Big Island of Hawaii. This Hawaiian Island is ever changing by the lava flow from the Kilauea volcano. We love getting to know each of our guests, & experiencing Hawaii again and again through all of their adventures, we are always discovering places we did not know about. Won't you come to Hawaii, the Big Island and share your story with us, & let us share our's with you. We look forward to meeting and sharing the magic of aloha with you, here at Ohia House Bed and Breakfast. ~Cindy & Rick
